TUITION
Tuition is due the first day of every month. If tuition is not paid by the 7th of each month then a $25 late fee will be applied to each open invoice after the 7th. Each week thereafter will have a $10 late fee. If payment is 30 days late, the student can only observe class and not actively participate until it is caught up. If you need a differ arrangement, please talk with Lisa or her office staff. Some months may only have 3 classes in them, but will be balanced out as other months may have 5 classes. We do not prorate. You are responsible to pay late charges and the month’s tuition. If tuition falls a month behind, your child will not participate in class until the fees are paid in full.
We accept Cash, Checks, Venmo. You can now also use a credit card (visa or m/c), however there is a 3% charge for those services. For Visa and Mastercard payments made online, please know that a 3% convenience credit card fee will be added. If you make an online portal payment this fee will be added after your initial payment is made and can then be paid the next time.
If you need a payment arrangement due to your payday, please talk to our office staff and we will try to work with you. There is a $30 fee added to returned checks. If a class meets less than three times in one month, your tuition will be adjusted. We do not prorate if you miss a class, however makeup classes are available.
No refunds will be issued on any costume, other fees, competition fees or tuition or where classes have or haven't been attended.
Additional Fees: I thought you might want to know in advance costs you will incur other than tuition throughout the year. All fees are non-refundable:
Costume fees for recital due in November:
Acro is one costume ($75), Dance is another costume ($85).
Competition Dancers will have multiple costumes.
Recital fee due with March tuition: $70 per family.
This fee includes 2 tickets to the show, one recital T-shirt and one program.
Additional Tshirts --approx, $18 each
Recital Tickets $14
ABSENCES / MAKE-UP CLASSES
It is very difficult for all when one or two from a class regularly miss, especially those few months before recital. Practices in April and May are mandatory for the recital. Please keep this in mind on class night. You must be at the two practices prior to a general performance in the community (i.e. Ball Games, Nursing Home appearances and such) in order to participate. Students not able to abide by this regulation will be taken out of the number for that particular event. Dance/Acro is a team event. Everyone matters!
Missing classes is inevitable, but excessive absences can become a problem.
All classes can be made up. Please check with the office for the times that are available for your dancer. If you miss a class, or we are off for a holiday, you may make up that class in another class the same level. Please take advantage of this and get your money's worth.
Classes may be made up at any time, except during April or May. Senior dancers are encouraged to take technique classes to make-up their classes.
If your dancer missed classes, each family is expected to pay tuition in full for that month. If your dancer missed classes for a month, for example, payment is still expected to pay for the full amount for the month. If you are missing classes, they may be made up. When a family is signing up to dance at Dance Express, they are making a commitment per month, no matter if you are attending all of the classes in the month.
SICKNESS/INJURY
In the event of a dancer falling ill, please keep them home from class. We do not want sickness spread throughout the studio. If a dancer is injured they are encouraged to observe class. Please call the studio and let us know if it is necessary for you to miss a class.
DROPPING OFF AND PICKING UP
Please make sure a teacher is present before dropping off your child. Please be on time to pick up your child. Once your child’s class ends, we cannot be responsible for them as we are beginning another class. For safety reasons, we don’t recommend having your young child wait by the outside door. They are welcome to wait in the waiting area until you arrive. This is for your child's protection!
Please note that we operate as a drop-off program and do not have a parent viewing area. Our small waiting area is designated for students waiting for their classes to begin. You are welcome to drop off your students, visit our front desk, or handle any necessary tasks while classes are in session. However, please be aware that our waiting area is reserved exclusively for students awaiting their scheduled classes.
At the conclusion of each class, a staff member will escort students to the exterior door for pickup. To collect your student, please come to the door located under the awning where our staff will assist in bringing them to you.
If you have arrived early, you must wait with your child until it is time to start class. Dance rooms will remain closed until the instructor opens the door to enter. Remember, teachers come in early to prepare for class. Please do not open the doors until your instructor is ready.
Before class begins, please try to have the dancer's tap shoes on them. If you are late arriving to class, please stand outside of the dance room and put your dancer's shoes on so there are no interruptions during the class. Please take the younger dancers to the restroom before class starts.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in ensuring a smooth experience for all our students and families.
